Darin Weed, Ph.D.

Dr. Darin Weed is a molecular biologist with training in virology, cancer cell biology, and high content screening. His contributions to science include investigating conformational changes of viral proteins at Washington State University and studying the innate immune restriction of oncogenic Kaposi’s sarcoma-associated herpesvirus by host cells at the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Weed has received many awards throughout his academic career, including the National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship. In his current position, Dr. Weed most enjoys getting to meet so many innovative entrepreneurs and learning about their exciting technologies. In his free time, Dr. Weed enjoys outreach activities, hiking with his dog, and playing ice hockey.
