Don Coltart, Ph.D.

Dr. Don Coltart is an organic and medicinal chemist with expertise in total synthesis and methodology development. During his academic career, Dr. Coltart worked on the development of anti-HIV compounds and gylcopeptide cancer vaccines. Dr. Coltart has extensive experience in grant writing and has secured over $3.9 million in independent funding from various government and private agencies, including the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Department of Defense (DOD), and the American Chemical Society. Dr. Coltart has served on study sections for the National Institutes of Health (NIH), NSF, the American Cancer Society, and the American Chemical Society. Don has over 60 peer-reviewed publications, and has served as a referee for numerous journals. In addition, Dr. Coltart has also been recognized for his teaching excellence at both the undergraduate and graduate level, where he has developed innovative programs aimed at improving learning experiences and student success. In his current position, Dr. Coltart loves advising and assisting clients with the challenges they face in securing funding to support their development and growth. In his free time Don enjoys drumming, collecting vintage drums, exercising, traveling, and scuba diving.
