Roberto Melendez, Ph.D.

Dr. Roberto Melendez has over 10 years of experience as a medical school professor and research investigator in systems neuroscience, behavioral pharmacology, neurochemistry, and molecular neurobiology. He has extensive expertise in preparing and managing grant proposals from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and has secured funds totaling over $6 million to support multiple research programs that he led as Principal Investigator. He has also served as an NIH grant reviewer for R03, R21, R01, and SBIR applications. Dr. Melendez is a skilled project manager who has built a strong reputation in advising, mentoring and helping scientists from a broad range of specialties advance their scientific and business endeavors. He is also pursuing a dual MBA/MS degree in Innovation, Technology, and Entrepreneurship while focusing on the best strategies that move technologies closer to commercialization. In his spare time, Dr. Melendez enjoys cycling, running, and being in nature as much as possible.
