Yichao Yang, Ph.D.

Dr. Yang has a scientific background in microbiology with broad experience in biotechnology, vaccine development, probiotics identification, and bioinformatics. Dr. Yang has a strong track record in scientific writing and formulating research strategies, having authored over 20 peer-reviewed publications. She has routinely served as a manuscript reviewer for multiple high impact peer-reviewed academic journals.  Dr. Yang previously founded a start-up and served as the principal investigator to apply for an NSF SBIR grant, which focused on developing a live-attenuated vaccine for controlling COVID-19. Dr. Yang gained extensive experience during this tenure, including grant writing, project management, business management, and research & development expertise. At EGC, Dr. Yang enjoys the enthusiasm of entrepreneurs and being able to assist them in securing the resources needed to develop their technologies. During her free time, Dr. Yang enjoys learning musical instruments and spending time with her family and cat.
