Scientific Consultant, Grant Writing Specialist

The Scientific Consultant, Grant Writing Specialist will provide strategic scientific consulting and grant writing support to assist EGC’s clients in their technology development. The successful candidate should have deep scientific expertise and be skilled in writing and submitting a broad range of research grants to support early-stage technology development.

Specific Job Duties:

  • Provide strategic guidance to assist scientists and entrepreneurs in understanding the non-dilutive funding landscape
  • Write competitive grant applications to be submitted to multiple federal agencies (DoD, NIH, NSF, etc)
  • Serve as a Project Manager and coordinate all aspects of the proposal preparation process, including research plan development, budget preparation, and submission
  • Coordinate with collaborators at universities, CROs, and other institutes
  • Collaborate with other Scientific Consultants and EGC team members to achieve our mission of Advancing Science

Job Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in a scientific field

Marketing Manager

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Marketing Manager will be responsible for overseeing all of EGC’s marketing needs. Responsibilities include external marketing such as developing social media campaigns, website material, and press releases as well as internal marketing activities such as preparing employee newsletters and planning events. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with high standards of excellence. Prior experience should include a manager-level position in marketing for a scientific and/or professional services firm.

Specific Job Duties:

  • Identify, develop and execute marketing and communication plans in collaboration with Professional Services, Business Development, and Human Resources departments
  • Identify and launch thought leadership campaigns and marketing programs
  • Draft written content spanning client success stories, video scripts/storyboards, services descriptions
  • Coordinate and supervise media/press initiatives, events, on/offline internal and external campaigns
  • Stay up-to-date on all trends in the professional services space
  • Assist senior management with preparing slide decks and other visual materials
  • Coordinate closely with Sales Team to support outreach efforts
  • Provide event Management, including strategy, planning logistics, invitations, registration, conference materials, and on-site assistance to create a positive experience

Job Requirements:

Talent Acquisition Specialist

The Talent Acquisition Specialist will be responsible for full-cycle recruiting, including sourcing and qualifying candidates and acting as the custodian for candidate experience. The successful candidate should have previous experience in sourcing, interviewing, and evaluating candidates for a scientific and/or professional services firm.

Specific Job Duties:

  • Provide sourcing support for professional roles throughout our firm, including Scientific Consulting, Accounting & Administrative roles
  • Participate in briefing and debriefing meetings to develop a better understanding of the business requirements, the required skills and expertise as well as the role contribution to the wider team
  • Manage and track all candidate activity from identification through to onboarding
  • Contribute to candidate engagement and overall experience
  • Ensure accurate communication with candidates
  • Prepare regular pipeline reports
  • Develop strategies for sourcing candidates
  • Screen resumes and applications and update candidates on hiring processes
  • Interview candidates during various hiring stages, including phone and first-round interviews
  • Report to hiring managers and HR manager on the status of open positions
  • Evaluate candidates based on their interview and assignment performance

Job Requirements:

  • Proven work experience as an Internal Recruiter or similar role
  • Solid understanding of full-cycle recruiting

Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant will provide accounting and grants management services to a portfolio of companies who have engaged EGC for accounting and grant compliance services. The successful candidate will supervise a team of Staff Accountants and will report to the Director of Accounting & Compliance.

Specific Job Duties:

  • Serve as Client Lead for Accounting engagements
  • Provide full-service accounting support for small and medium-sized businesses
  • Oversee Staff Accountants’ Bookkeeping entries into Quickbooks
  • Set up depreciation schedules, accrued revenue, journal entries, and other schedules
  • Ensure client timesheets are entered properly into the accounting system
  • Sign off on monthly financial reports for clients
  • Support Clients’ government reporting needs
  • Lead setup packages for new clients to assist them with establishing a corporate infrastructure and protocols that are in compliance with federal granting agency regulations
  • Prepare invoices and drawdown funds from funding agencies
  • Write, update and review Policies & Procedures Manuals for Clients
  • Support clients in audits
  • Lead indirect rate negotiations and incurred cost submissions
  • Provide gap analyses to identify areas in which clients are non-compliant with general accounting and government granting agency regulations
  • Provide expertise in both GAAP accounting and grant accounting standards
  • Contribute to EGC’s accounting and compliance team success
  • Supervise Staff Accountants
  • Contribute to the development of internal policies to ensure the highest level of work quality and client service
  • Contribute to educational resources and professional development opportunities to facilitate continual professional growth
  • Provide the highest level of customer service and client satisfaction

Job Requirements:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Minimum 4 years experience in accounting
  • Experience with government grant accounting
  • Demonstrated ability to form, lead and develop high-performing teams
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting
  • Familiarity with accounting needs for small businesses (LLCs, S Corps, C Corps)
  • Proficiency with Quickbooks desktop and online
  • Excellent organizational skills

Staff Accountant I

The Staff Accountant I will support the Accounting Department in providing bookkeeping services for clients who have received government grant funding. The successful candidate will manage general ledgers and major account reconciliations along with journal entry postings. The Staff Accountant I will report directly to a Senior Accounting Lead.

Specific Job Duties:

  • Review financial statements for accuracy
  • Enter accounting-related information into the accounting system
  • Inspect account books for efficiency and accuracy
  • Organize and update financial records
  • Perform monthly bank/credit card reconciliations
  • Prepare documentation for external auditors and tax accountants
  • Internal invoicing
  • Data Entry Reconciliation Special Financial Projects
  • Other job duties as directed by the supervisor

Sales Associate

The Sales Associate will assist EGC’s Business Development Team in all aspects of sales for EGC’s Scientific Consulting, Accounting, and Grants Management services. The Sales Associate will train under experienced Business Development professionals and will gain experience in inside and outside sales; Salesforce; and other sales activities.

The Sales Associate is an entry-level position.

Specific Job Duties:

  • Manage leads from multiple sources.
  • Execute Targeting campaigns to support directed lead generation.
  • Maintain Salesforce CRM.
  • Schedule introductory calls and meetings for all leads.
  • Act as EGC’s first point of contact to prospective customers, identifying their needs and aligning with internal capabilities.
  • Take cold-calls as well as pre-scheduled calls with prospective clients.
  • Represent company at conferences.
  • Prepare follow-up emails and other correspondence for prospective clients.
  • Coordinate closely with all departments at EGC to support their sales & marketing needs.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of overall company capabilities.
  • Stay abreast of competitors and sales trends.
  • Provide excellent sales service to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Achieve department’s sales goals on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science preferred. Bachelor’s degree in sales or marketing with science concentration will also be considered.
