PediaMetrix

NIH and NSF Funding Powers PediaMetrix's AI-Driven Pediatric Screening Platform

$5.6M

Non-dilutive funding awarded

PediaMetrix was founded in 2018 by a team of researchers and entrepreneurs from Johns Hopkins, the NIH, and Oxford to address an often overlooked challenge in early childhood care: the timely detection of infant cranial deformities.

Recognizing the need for non-dilutive capital to advance and validate its technology, PediaMetrix partnered with EGC to develop and execute a targeted funding strategy. EGC supported the company’s successful NIH and NSF SBIR proposals, helping to secure multiple awards that have fueled platform development, regulatory clearance, and commercial growth. This foundation of strategic funding, combined with venture and state support, has accelerated PediaMetrix’s trajectory from research concept to FDA-cleared medical application.

With significant federal funding came an equally significant responsibility to manage it properly. PediaMetrix engaged EGC to build the financial and compliance infrastructure needed to meet the demands of a multi-agency award portfolio—establishing cost accounting standards, strengthening internal controls, and maintaining continuous audit readiness. By providing comprehensive accounting and compliance support, EGC enables the PediaMetrix team to remain focused on innovation rather than administrative burden.

Building on their early success, PediaMetrix is now expanding its platform beyond cranial assessment into additional pediatric screening tools, including emerging solutions for ear and other developmental conditions. By delivering objective, real-time measurements, PediaMetrix is transforming healthcare for children, and empowering parents and clinicians with improved screening options.
